Tears of Inferno

This is probably my most ambitious game project. It originally started with me experimenting with more advanced programming in Rpg Maker. I was also planning to make this perhaps the first hentai game in history to have a big, elaborate, in-depth story. Unfortunately, I don't have much skill for storytelling, and I often got ideas for sex scenes that didn't neatly fit anywhere into the story. That and the details of the story are still kind of vague. As a result, the "story" in this game is spontaneous. But it plays well as a game, regardless.

FAQ:
Q: Where did the title of the game come from?
A:
My original story involved a conflict between two kingdoms. The kingdom of Humans and the kingdom of half-Dragons. There's was once a great war between the two nations. Which ended in a stalemate. Now, a rogue knight and thief seeks to obtain the magic of the fairies in order to exact revenge for the death of his brother during the war. That whole scenario came into being simply because I had an idea for a sex scene that started with that knight stealing the main character's clothes. Since that scene was scrapped, this background story was scrapped with it.

Q: What are these mailboxes I sometimes see in the middle of nowhere?
A: They're markers for where I'll eventually place treasure chests.

Q: I beat the wizard, now what?
A: Go back to the dungeon and free Princess Julia.

Q: I beat the castle, now where do I go?
A: That's about as far as I've gotten with the game's story. There will be more.

Q: Who's that weird character at the beginning?
A: A character from a story idea I haven't implemented yet.

Q: Why doesn't anything happen to Karen while she's at the mountains.
A: The answer is in the library.

Q: Why do you sometimes have situations with strange fetishes? (Young characters / girl with roly)
A: Simply because they're erotic enough to me that I can't resist putting them in. But out of respect of other people's tastes, I try to make it possible to avoid these scenes. (someting that should be a more common practice in hentai, in my opinion)

A: .

Tips:
- Since people's tastes vary greatly when it comes to sex scenes, most scenes are avoidable. Making them happen or not happen is a matter of paying attention to the clues the game gives you.
- After getting the "3rd Eye" Spell, be sure to check places you've already been. Such as dungeons.
- All "3rd Eye" secrets
have visual clues. It may be a strange sign, or a unusually-colored floor tile.
- When you sleep in your bed, you're dreams will show you where you can go next.

-

Ver. 11: I've only just now created this readme, so it's nearly impossible for me to determine how many things I've changed since the last release of this game. But here are some recent changes I've made.
- Rocks and Pots often leave behind items when they're blown up.
- You can now collect and view picture-pieces. (I've hidden about 12 in the game so far.)
- There's now an optional side-quest involving two girls in the human village. (right after getting the Astral Flame spell)
- The shops now have higher prices, seeing as money is so easy to come by.
- HP-up items increase in price as you buy them.
- The mountains have been altered to make it easier to know where you can go.
- The Bird boss has less HP. (I thought he was too hard before)
- Bugs roam the forest.
- You can ask the Fairy mentor about your spells... among other things.
- dropped items are smaller-looking, which more accurately reflects their effectiveness.
- The game is now deliberately compatable with Windows 98.
- Treasure chests never have more than 20 GP in them.
- The shop in Lamarkia will offer a discount under "special" conditions.

Things that aren't done yet:
- The swamp area is not done yet.
- I plan to add more items to buy at the shops. (money is only worth something when you have stuff to spend it on)
- Since they game is incomplete, not all areas are reachable yet.
- The colleseum in town isn't part of anything yet. And the chest there is a dud. (suggestions for that place are welcome)
- Not all of the pictures for the puzzle-pieces are in the game yet, since I try to select pictures that match the situations and characters in the game.
- Add a real story to the game. (I've got some ideas though)
- The secret room in the Castle Library isn't ready yet.
- "Magic Book" enemy needs to be programmed.
- Add a way to view $ in Menu.

Known Bugs:
- Hit detection is a bit unreliable. I'm not sure if I can fix that though.
- Marle will sometimes appear to be walking sideways when she jumps.
- If you jump into deep water and drown, you may not be restored to the place you're supposed to be.
- Once in a great while, you'll be restored to the wrong place after falling into a pit.
- Falling into a hole while swimming, results in your walk-speed being too fast.

Suggestions?
If you find any glitches, or have any suggestions. Go ahead and tell me. The main reason this game is taking so long is that I'm short on ideas. You can either messege me on FurAffinity, or you can email me.

Acknowledgements:
I borrowed many resources. All of them are used without permission and are the property of their respected creators.
- Characters and Maps: Mostly taken from Chrono Trigger, Zelda, Secret of Mana, Secret of Mana 2, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, and other snes games. I altered many of them for one reason or another.

- Bonus Pictures: I did not create a single one of these. But I made a point of using pictures with unknown artists. Also, I did create the puzzle effect.

- Music: I did not create any of the music in this game. I did modify some of it for aesthetic reasons. For instance, cutting out lyrics to make the music less intrusive. (background music as opposed to "foreground" music)
